Chapter 11: A calm breeze

Far beneath the ears of any minion or Overlord, Gnarl went to his secret  appointment.
''How could this happen Gnarl?'' a very low dark voice said.
''I don't know oh Master, it happened so quickly. First the blues and reds fought each other and now this. What are you going to do?''
''Wait, they don't have enough genes yet. Till that time I don't need to decide about life and death.''
'Can I be sure that it will not happen soon?''
''If you could do that, i have a strange feeling one of those greens will jump on top of it. So keep an eye on them when you find them.''
''I will Master, have a safe journey to your palace.''
''Thank you good luck with this Overlord maybe minions will finally rule the world.''

While Gnarl was at his appointment the Overlord was staring. ''Uhhh, how could this happen?''
''Physical attraction, Lord. But even then it's one in a million times a Hive is starting.'' Zap said without approval. ''Female minions never show themselves till it's too late. Mostly they die because of all the attention they get from the males.It's risky to be a female.''
''So it won't happen again?''
''Can't promise you that  Lord but there is a small chance it will.''
The Overlord was thinking, ''What should I do with it, destroy it or let it live? If it turns into a monster it could destroy everything." Did he need to think so drastically or was he too concerned. '' He didn't know but for now he would wait and ask Gnarl when he could find him.

''Gnarl! Where are you?''
''I'm here Lord.'' Gnarl just arrived at the barracks.
''What do I need to do with this? Shall it turn into a monster or can it work together with the other clans.''
''I don't know Sir but if it would turn into a monster I think something will intervene.''
''Who?''
''Did I say who? Maybe it or he or she? It can be everything Lord.''
''You're hiding something for me Gnarl.''
''Only a pumpkin pie Lord just baked.''
''Mmm I'm trusting you Gnarl but I don't believe it.''
''Time will tell, time will tell.''
''I shall let it rest for now, we need to find the greens. Ember said the greens' smell was located in Evernight.''
''Dangerous place Lord. Gigantic boars, poisoned trees, wild mushrooms and always those gnomes, thousands of them. Those squeaking sounds irritate my old ears.''
''I shall eliminate them when I see them.''
''Thank you Lord.''

''Brand!''
''Yes Lord.''
''How is it going with my smelter?''
''It's almost placed in the forge Lord. Can I place one of my minions over there?''
''Why? The blues are stronger in the absence of browns.''
''I know Lord but one red minion called Inferno followed them. His muscles are amazing but he can't throw fire anymore he only has glowing hands left. Muscles lower our magical power just like with the blues.''
''First he will need to prove to me he can make weaponry.''
''Will give the message to him Lord.''
''Alright off you go.''  
Gnarl's voice interrupting his already confused mind, ''Wish Giblet was here, he made real weaponry not those wooden sticks. Too bad he was forced to leave because the brown hive left.''
''We will find him Gnarl, sooner or later.''

The Overlord walked through the whole Netherworld, his mind couldn't ease. He needed to think about everything that happened. Elves who turned into conquerors, blues and red turning into muscular beings. He read in the library that all Overlords found the browns first. Why didn't he? They lost their specialties, did he disgrace the title of Overlord? He blew up the queen of the dwarves but still. The elves became stronger every second. Spree was almost falling, he still didn't know how the Halflings could withstand those attacks. He would need the horrors, sooner or later he would go back there when the problem with Slaq had been solved. How could that even happen, the reds and blues were in constant war with each other. Only his authority made them stop for now.
"What kind of Overlord am I?" he muttered to himself.

Thud came bouncing to him, somehow sensing his discomfort. ''Lord believe in yourself. You can do it, blues don't mind that you show your weaknesses but reds greens and browns will kill you for it. You can rule the world if you just remember one thing: always think about the minions. As long you do that it will be alright. Turn your back to them and you will die sooner or later.''  
''I will Thud, I just need to get my mind straight again.''
''I know you will Lord, don't be afraid of Evernight those plants can burn just as easy as normal ones.''
''How do you know?''
''I need to get my wood from somewhere.'' He closed it off with a wink and bounced off again.

''Let's hope for that Thud, because tomorrow we will search for the greens.''
